The kit includes two antenna masts which are interchangeable, giving you the best of both worlds when it comes to UHF communication. The 3dBi mast option provides a total antenna length of 445mm, which is best suited for short-range communication in highly built-up areas including cities, dense woodlands, and mountain regions, as it produces a wider UHF signal which is less likely to be impacted by these obstructions compared to higher gain antennas.
The 6dBi mast option provides a total antenna length of 945mm, which is best suited for medium-range communication in various environments such as suburban landscapes, towns, and low-density woodlands, as the elliptical radiation pattern is more rounded compared to a high gain antenna and radiates further compared to a low gain antenna. The whips mount to a black elevated feed base which is fitted with a medium duty black coated stainless steel spring. It’s perfect for installing on all vehicles, including those that are prone to vibration such as trucks, agricultural machinery, and off-road 4WDs.
The antenna is ground-independent which means it can be mounted virtually anywhere on the vehicle while maintaining a stable radiation pattern. The elevated feed design helps raise the radiation pattern above the vehicle roof and other obstructions to ensure high performance when mounted on a vehicle roof gutter, guard, or bullbar.
