Description
GME LE05FME 5 Metre Marine Grade RG58 Coaxial Antenna Extension Lead with FME Connectors for GME Marine and UHF CB Antenna Systems
The GME LE05FME is a 5-metre marine grade RG58 coaxial antenna extension lead with FME connectors at both ends, designed to extend the cable run in GME FME-based marine and UHF CB antenna installations. It adds 5 metres of marine grade RG58 coaxial cable where the standard antenna lead is insufficient to reach the radio or head unit. Lead only no radio, antenna, or adaptor included.
Product overview
The FME (Female Miniature Equivalent) connector is the standard used across GME's VHF marine, UHF CB, and marine accessory antenna range including the AE4700 series, AE4012K2, AE4018, and other GME antenna kits. The LE05FME connects FME to FME, extending an existing FME cable run by 5 metres for installations where the antenna is mounted at a mast or remote vessel location and the radio is a significant distance away.
Marine grade RG58 construction means the outer jacket and insulation resist UV degradation, salt spray, moisture, and corrosion inherent in outdoor marine installations standard automotive or indoor RG58 would degrade more quickly in these conditions. For radios with PL259/SO239 inputs rather than FME, a GME AD503 (FME to PL259) adaptor is required at the radio end. For the PL259 version of this lead, the LE05PL is the matching product.
Features and benefits
5m marine grade RG58 coaxial cable: 50-ohm coaxial cable with a marine-rated jacket for UV, salt spray, and corrosion resistance in vessel installations.
FME connectors at both ends: Matches GME's FME-based antenna and radio connector standard used across the VHF marine, UHF CB, and marine accessory range.
Extends existing FME antenna installations by 5 metres: Adds cable reach between the antenna and radio where the standard lead is insufficient.
Marine environment rated: UV, salt spray, and moisture-resistant construction for long-term reliable performance in marine installations.
Lead only: No radio, antenna, or adaptor included.

Frequently asked questions
What is the LE05FME used for? The LE05FME extends the cable run between a GME FME-terminated antenna and the connected radio by 5 metres. This is useful when the standard antenna lead is too short for the installation for example, when the antenna is mounted at a mast or remote vessel location and the radio is a significant distance away.
What is the FME connector? FME (Female Miniature Equivalent) is the compact coaxial connector standard used across GME's antenna and marine radio range, including VHF marine antenna cables, UHF CB antenna leads such as the AE4700 series and AE4012K2, and various GME radio accessories. The LE05FME connects FME to FME, extending an existing FME cable run.
What is marine grade RG58 and why does it matter? RG58 is a 50-ohm coaxial cable specification. Marine grade means the outer jacket and insulation are treated to resist UV degradation, salt spray, moisture, and corrosion inherent in outdoor marine installations. Standard automotive or indoor RG58 will degrade more quickly in a marine environment.
Can the LE05FME be used with radios that have a PL259 input? The LE05FME terminates in FME at both ends. For radios or devices with PL259/SO239 inputs, a GME AD503 FME-to-PL259 adaptor is required at the radio end. Contact us to confirm the correct adaptor for your installation.
Can multiple LE05FME leads be connected in series for a longer run? Additional cable length can be added by chaining extension leads, but every additional connector and metre of cable introduces signal loss. For longer cable runs, the LE503 (10m RG213/U) or LE504 (15m RG213/U) offer lower overall attenuation. Contact us for advice on the correct cable solution for your installation.
