It uses a Sony Starvis2 image sensor, which is built for surveillance-grade sensitivity in both visible and near infrared light, so footage stays clearer after dark or in tunnels. Video is compressed using H.265 (HEVC), which GNET says can be up to twice as efficient as older H.264 compression, meaning a smaller file size for the same length of footage. That efficiency means a 256GB memory card can effectively store as much footage as a 512GB card would using older compression.
