When an aftermarket infotainment system replaces the factory radio in a compatible Mercedes, the factory reverse camera signal can be lost. The SCMBRT2 bridges the factory FAKRA camera connector to a standard male RCA output, the input type used by most aftermarket head units for reverse camera signals. The factory camera continues to function without installing a new camera.
Parking guidelines are generated by the factory radio, not the camera. Because the factory radio is being replaced, the parking lines may not display on the aftermarket head unit even though the camera image is retained. The Mercedes Sprinter W906 compatibility is restricted to 2014 to 2016 model years only, despite the W906 being produced from 2007 to 2018. W906 Sprinters built outside the 2014 to 2016 window are not supported. Confirm the build year of your Sprinter before purchasing.
