The OEX ACX3716BL is a 16A three-position momentary On/Off/Momentary On SPDT rocker switch rated for 12V and 24V, with a 21x37mm Carling-format mounting hole and three blade terminals. Rocking the switch to either end activates the corresponding momentary contact, and the switch spring-returns to the centre Off position when released. Neither end latches the centre Off position is always the rest state. The three-position momentary SPDT configuration is suited to dual-direction control applications including electric window lifts, powered antenna up/down controls, sunroof open/close and other reversible motor or actuator circuits. Product overview
This switch is fundamentally different from a standard two-position On/Off rocker. A standard rocker latches in position pressing one end turns the circuit on and it stays on until pressed again. The ACX3716BL has three positions and neither end latches. Rocking to one end activates that momentary contact only while held; releasing the switch springs it back to the centre Off position automatically. Rocking to the other end activates the opposite contact, again only while held. The motor or actuator stops immediately when the switch is released.
This centre-off spring-return behaviour is the correct configuration for reversible motor control electric window motors, powered antenna motors, sunroof actuators and linear actuators where the motor must run only while the switch is actively held in a direction. The SPDT configuration provides three independent blade terminals: a common centre terminal plus one for each momentary contact position. At 16A across 12V and 24V it handles many motor control applications directly, but for high-current motors the switch terminals should trigger relays rather than carry motor current directly.
