The Rockford Fosgate M2-TS is a pair of 1 inch (25.4mm) marine grade add-on tweeters purpose-built to extend the high-frequency performance of existing M2 series Color Optix full-range marine speaker installations. The M2-TS is designed as a system upgrade for M2 speakers already installed, allowing a component tweeter to be added to any new or existing M2 marine audio system without replacing the full-range drivers.
The tweeter features an aluminium diaphragm with a marine grade PEI rubber surround, neodymium motor structure, and high-temperature Kapton voice coil former, delivering a frequency response from 1,425Hz to 25kHz with 97dB sensitivity at 1W/1m. The external high-pass crossover is an 18dB/octave audiophile grade passive network using metallised polyester film capacitors selected for their dependability, long service life, and preferred electrical characteristics - a steeper and more precisely executed crossover than the 6dB/octave ICC networks used in the M1 series speakers.
The front face and stainless steel mesh grille carry an IPX6 water intrusion rating, while the frame is IPX5 rated. The UV stable ASA plastic frame and grille resist discolouration in marine environments, and the gold-plated marine grade brass connection terminals provide a corrosion-resistant, maintenance-free connection. The kit includes both a back-mount flush kit and a white horn-loaded mount bezel for installation flexibility, plus a dual clamp tweeter mounting system and all required mounting hardware. Does the Color Optix lighting require a separate controller?
Yes. Color Optix RGB lighting requires the PMX-RGB controller and the RF Connect app (available on iOS and Android) to access full colour control, lighting effects, and brightness adjustment. The PMX-RGB controller is sold separately and is not included. The speakers can also operate without the controller at a fixed default colour setting straight out of the box.
Is the M1WL-65MB suitable for marine or boat applications?
The M1WL-65MB is an Element Ready motorsports product designed and rated for off-road and powersports environments. While it carries IPX6 water intrusion rating, it is a moto-can designed for SXS roll cage bars from 1.0 to 2.0 inches. For marine wake tower applications requiring bars up to 3.0 inches, the M2WL-8B or M2WL-8HB wake tower speakers are the appropriate products.
What is the difference between the M1WL-65MB and the M0WL-65MB?
